General Info

DADOS Prospective 2.1 is the updated version of DADOS Prospective. DADOS Prospective 2.1 is a web-based data collection system that enables clinical researchers to create clinical case report forms (CRFs) for single site or multiple site trials on the web, and give access to team members all over the world for data collection (IRB approval must be attained for your study before data collection can begin).

DADOS Prospective is designed to comply with the regulations from HIPAA Chapter 11 for Electronic Data Capture (EDC). The latest version differs from the previous version in that it allows the PI and Coordinator to have more control over their study in the following ways:

  • PIs and Coordinators are now called Super Coordinators and Super Coordinators have access to add new sites to the study, and to add new users (local coordinators, interviewers) to each site without going through the site administrator.
  • Administrators can continue to edit forms even as the data is being collected. Each time a form is changed after data is collected, the form is kept in an extensive form change history. Best practice is to test forms for error before going live to minimize form changing, but it is now possible to make changes without losing all data via the administrator.
  • Local Coordinators can add new users to their own site for data collection.
  • All new studies must be created by the site administrator, once the site is created and a super coordinator is assigned, the super coordinator can assume all study creation activities, such as designing the CRF, adding sites to the study, registering users to the study, enrolling subjects to the study, and collecting data for the study.

Also, this program was created in house by Duke's team for Research on Research (RoR) with user-friendliness as a priority. For more info, check out the article published about DADOS Prospective.
